Equipment and Packages

The Essentials Package:

Item 1   This package contains a complete well sounding system (except N2 bottle) to work on your computer with a remotely operated AGR (Acoustical Generator Receiver) for outward as well as inward pressure surveys to 1,500 psi in either direction. This AGR has a built-in remote operating feature that uses a 5 volt source drawing no more power than is usually available from your computer’s USB port and is activated and controlled by the AccuFluid Surveyor III or WSDAQ program in the computer. Simply press “Start Survey” on your computer screen or at interface plugged into the back of the AGR.

AGR
AGR has Quick thumb operated Attach / Release for one hand attachment to well.

Our basic standard remotely operated AGR also detects and adjust its internal functions automatically for inward and outward surveys, when it is attached to a well and an optional pressure source is attached, or not. When enough suitable well gas pressure is present, this is detected by the AGR and the AGR will switch to inward soundings and control the differential pressure between the internal pressure chamber and the well pressure entering the unit for an optimal sounding. This differential pressure, regulated automatically within the AGR, is often in the 300 to 400 PSI range, even when much higher well pressures are encountered.

Item 2
The Surveyor III Computer Program for control, adjustment and memory functions to make a survey, interactively adjustments if necessary, retains the raw data and adjustments for the best possible reading, prints the survey and many other functions. Either the Surveyor III program or the very extensive WSDAQ Program will perform all these functions, but the easier to use Surveyor III version is included in this package. See page describing the Surveyor III screens and features. Programs are not available without purchase of instrument at this time. Computer is not supplied with this package, but we will install and check the Surveyor III program on your computer if sent to our distribution point. See COMPUTER and LINK OPTIONS Page. An optional computer package is available below.

Item 3   Smart Cable which attaches between the AGR and the computer LAN / Cable Port. As the name implies, it is much more than a cable between two instruments. This cable has a small box near the AGR end which contains various functions, indicators and controls. A light indicates when the units are attached and ready to make a survey, when a survey is in progress and when a survey has been completed and committed to the computer’s memory.

When the units are attached, and the ready lite appears, a button on this box allows a sounding to be initiated right from the AGR unit as it is attached to the well, without going back to, or looking at, the computer. In routine cases, where this well has been previously surveyed, the settings from the last previous survey are applied. The survey view may be confirmed and fluid level obtained on the computer after the AGR equipment has been returned to the vehicle, thus allowing just one trip over to the well to complete a survey. The rest may be done in the comfort of your vehicle or at the office at a later time. The last survey will remain on the screen to confirm a clear fluid hit has been obtained before moving on.

Item 4
A regulator for bringing the Nitrogen pressure (which may be up to 2,500 psi) from a bottle down to between 100 and 1,500 psi for making solid soundings. This regulator attaches directly to the standard N2 Bottle, which is available at any welding or gas supplier. The size of bottle used is dependant on whether you carry a bottle to the well, when outward surveys are required, or you use a large bottle left in the vehicle and just run a small hose over to the AGR. A short 3' and a long 50' hose are both supplied to make both options available. The Nitrogen bottle is NOT SUPPLIED, as it is hard to ship and is readily available at your local supplier. We can supply a small 70 cu. in. 3,000 psi paint ball bottle with fittings for our AGR and refilling from your larger bottle at an additional cost. This is a good option if only surveying a few wells on one trip from the vehicle.

Case with supply in lid.
Case with supply tray in lid and tool area in front of padded AGR compartment.

Item 5   A water tight case with purge valve and interior padded dividers suitable for safely carrying the above items with unique supply tray in lid.

Miscellaneous: Six Male Quick Connect fittings for quick, one hand, attachment to the casing test access. Additional fittings of this type may be ordered, as operators leave this fitting on the wells that they survey regularly. Instruction book with illustrated use and disassembly instructions and parts identification list. Booklet only available supplied with instrument at this time.

Available Options:

Wireless Bluetooth
:   Instead of the Smart Cable connection from the AGR to your computer, you may use your computer’s Blue Tooth communication to supply the link. This is particularly convenient when working with a two man crew, where one places the AGR and the other does the surveys from the vehicle mounted computer. This is a very fast system which actually saves time in some circumstances. The operator can calculate the fluid levels and print or make a record of the sounding while the hand removes the AGR and moves on to the next well.

Back and front views of Wired and Bluetooth units.

This is also very convenient when carrying a small computer with the AGR to the well for a sounding. The wireless unit on the AGR indicates when the computer is ready for a sounding and then the computer may be observed just briefly to confirm a fluid hit and move on to the next well. In many cases, leaving the computer in the vehicle is very convenient, especially when the well has been surveyed previously and the well, by name, is selected for a new survey, which applies the previous optimal settings for this well.

The wireless unit is rechargeable from your vehicle’s 12 VDC and will stay charged for scores of soundings.

Wireless Option: Call for pricing.

Computer and watertight case:   As we have stated, any computer which meets the minimum criteria may be used. A number of other devices, some down to pocket size, also run the required windows programs. As most people have a laptop available for other purposes, we offer this additional package as an option.

We provide an ACER Aspire One, 11.6 inch LCD computer with a USB Blue tooth accessory housed in a Pelican case, with a Surveyor III Program loaded and tested with your equipment. The Pelican case has been modified to make the top cover removable for further convenience, when the top cover is not desirable as a screen shade. The case also has an instrument handle added to one end of the cover, further adding to the convenience. The case is just large enough to hold the computer, charger and a small mouse for the computer.

Computer w/Programing and Modified Case: Call for pricing.

Portable Pressure Tank:   The small portable pressure tank mentioned above is fitted with a Quick Connect for attachment directly to the back of the AGR and another for filling this small tank from a larger tank.

Custom Fitted Portable Pressure Tank with its own regulator: Call for pricing.
